All are invited to attend the 1st annual meeting of the National Farmers and hear an issues update by Ken Klippen on what the 501 (c)(3) tax exempt trade association on behalf of egg farmers.
This presentation includes the role of the National Egg Farmers this past year in educating legislators both nationally and state, retailers, food companies and consumers on the benefits of caged layer production to the chicken and the consumer.
It also highlights its role in legislation such as Wisconsin’s Rep. Sensenbrenner’s “No Regulation without Representation HR 2887” and Iowa’s Rep. Steve King’s Protecting the Interstate Commerce Act HR 4879”, State bills banning cages including Michigan’s SB660, and Rhode Island’s H7456, NAFTA negotiations, opposing RFS, seeking adjustments to the SE testing protocols, seeking an increase in funds for exports of eggs and egg products through the Market Access Program (MAP) from $200 million to $400 million a year along with an increase in the Foreign Market Development (FMD) program from $34.5 million to $69 million annually.
